Demeter, Bringer of the Harvest
I played around a lot with ideas for this look. I didn't want to just stick with browns. I really didn't want to do yellows. Then I thought about my mom. Her favorite colors are green and brown because they are the colors of growing things and dirt. Haha. I love my mother. Anyway, that seemed applicable to me, so I created this look.

Persephone, Spring Maiden
Persephone was so much fun and turned out so pretty! I originally planned on doing dark purple and pink (also a great combination!), but then I found this headband. I had to make them go together. So many compliments! My mom told me several times how much she loved it.
Even though it's autumn now, I think I'll wear this look to work this week. :D

Hecate, Guardian of Crossroads
I was very excited to film Hecate. I had the idea of doing black and silver, but decided purple would be more mystical. The moon on my cheek was a last-minute decision, but I don't regret it one bit. We went out to dinner at the second fanciest restaurant in town after I filmed this. Haha. The waiter, bless his heart, didn't even look twice.

Aphrodite, She Who Turns to Love
I had a really hard time deciding what to do for Aphrodite. I mean, how do you portray love with makeup? I really had to stretch my artistic ability with this look. I still didn't manage to get it even. Oh well.
Immediately after filming this look, I got a call from my mother for a ride home from work. I hopped in the car thinking she'd really be the only one to see me, but she had offered a ride to her co-worker. The key to pulling off not-subtle makeup is being confident.

Greek Goddesses - Hestia
In ancient Greece, the first offering at every sacrifice was to Hestia, Goddess of primarily the hearth (though she presided over other things as well), so she seemed a very natural goddess to start with.
My choices of reds, oranges, and golds should be fairly obvious. If you can draw, unlike me, perhaps you could draw a flame on your lid instead. Since I have little to no drawing ability, I chose to represent fire with just the colors.

New Channel Series Idea: A Month of Review
I'm trying to grow my channel by trying new things. One of the things I want to try is reviews, but how to do them differently than everyone else? So as I sat brainstorming channel ideas in general (should I do a GRWM?, more hauls? talk fashion, etc?), a phrase popped into my head: Month in Review. Well, I liked this phrase, so I played around with it, trying to see what it fit the best. Then I hit upon the idea of doing little vlog-type reviews every time I used a single product during one month. Tati kind of uses this type of review (wear test, I guess they call it) when she does single product tryouts. I thought just one day of seeing a product in action might not be enough, which is why reviewing it over the course of a month seemed perfect to me.
So head on over to my channel and check out my first Month of Review all about Covergirl Tru Blend Blush in Deep Mauve. Let me know what you think!!
